fight to Survive becomes controlled growth
We began working with a legacy, family-owned tool and die machine shop in the Midwest who traditionally has been completely dependent on automotive industry. They had aspirations for more and wanted to take their future into their own hands while identifying aerospace and defense as an opportunity.
What we did:
Identified opportunities, set goals, drafted Mission Statement, Vision Statement, Core Values to help guide organization
Identified prerequisites to working with government and prime contractors (certifications, Quality Management Systems, registrations, Capability Statements, etc.) and created roadmap to accomplish
Re-branded company, updated marketing materials to align with opportunities, implemented QMS, allocated capital for marketing to attend and exhibit at impactful trade shows and conventions (focused on brand building/awareness)
Proactively marketing to colleagues in Wolfspotter’s network to match with upcoming solicitations and create subcontracting relationships ultimately resulting in millions in revenue. Owned all business development in the aerospace and defense space.
Implemented KPI’s and created dashboards to track growth and to ensure ROI on all initiatives. Identified software platforms (CRM and project management) that were focused on ease-of-use, robust capabilities, integration with existing systems, and a low-cost/quick ROI. We deployed these technologies for <$100/month combined.
Company has moved from 100% automotive to 90% aerospace and defense work - to the tune of $8-$10 million per year while also running more efficiently with a new identity that’s sustainable long into the future.
